Become A Member
Want to become a member?
Today, lasting commitment is rare. That reality has also impacted the church. Many move from one church to another. By doing so, they cannot form deep and lasting relationships. They also cannot be used by God to serve His church through the gifts He has given to them. Finally, they put themselves in danger, because without spiritual oversight in their lives, they can continue in unbiblical beliefs and behaviors that hinder their walk with Christ and their witness for Christ.
Membership is a commitment to one another—a willing pledge to guard, care, submit, support, and minister together for the building up of our church body.
For those who are interested in becoming a member of The Chapel there a series of step that they will need to complete. They are as follows:
STEP 1: MEMBERSHIP CLASSES
The membership classes provide an opportunity, in an informal setting, for those seeking membership, to learn our church and its beliefs. All are welcome, whether or not they are interested in membership. Attending this class is a requirement for church membership.
The membership classes cover the following topics:
- Membership Matter: A Call to Commitment
- The Symbols of Salvation
- The Purposes of The Chapel
- The Believer’s Responsibility
STEP 2: BE INTERVIEWED BY AN ELDER
If you decide to move toward membership, an elder will be assigned to meet with you.
goals for this interview are...
- To learn how the Lord saved you.
- To confirm that you understand the meaning of church membership.
- To confirm that there are no biblically warranted concerns with your joining The Chapel as a member.
- To answer questions or help you find opportunities to connect at The Chapel.
STEP 3: BAPTISM (IF NEEDED)
If you have not yet been baptized as a believer by immersion, baptism is the next step to proceeding toward membership.
STEP 4: JOIN IN MEMBERSHIP
The final step toward membership is to participate in a New Members Service during our worship service. Each person joining the church will be presented to the congregation and is officially received into membership at The Chapel
